Shaftesbury Library could have vastly reduced opening hours – have your say before 22nd Dec

Complete the Dorset Council Survey now to make your feelings known.

Shaftesbury has been allocated for the lowest level of services – basically it could be open 15 hours a week just to be able to get and return books and not a lot more as a worst case scenario.  You don’t find this out until the final pages of the survey!!

Just as the Library is becoming an important Hub for activities and the community this could all come to an end.

FILL IN THE SURVEY NOW – CLOSING DATE IS 22ND DECEMBER

Quote from Dorset Council:
“Libraries are at the heart of our communities, and proposals aim to keep them this way. With a mission to inspire, connect and enable, we want to design a sustainable library service that meets the needs of our communities now and over the next 10 years. Shaped by responses received in the first phase, this final phase of consultation includes questions on suggested opening hours, digital access, providing spaces for communities and more. Each of the 23 Dorset Council libraries are part of the consultation, so it is important that everyone, adults and children, have their say on the future proposals – even those who don’t use the libraries!”

Sounds wonderful – but not in North Dorset it seems!
