Healthwatch Somerset are asking mothers for their views on how well their mental health was supported during their pregnancies.
A recent Healthwatch review based on evidence from 2,500 people’s experience of maternity services showed that the quality of maternity care has been in decline, and that the amount of support for mothers’ and birthing parents’ mental health “appears to be worsening”.
Healthwatch Somerset wishes to hear from people who have been pregnant in the last two years and have experienced mental health difficulties before, during or after giving birth. It is especially interested in the experiences of women from ethnic minority communities and LGBTQ+ birthing parents. To give your views, visit
