More Support for Getting into Work

In addition to Dorset Work Matters (for those under CMHTs) and Wise Ability, Dorset Council has launched another initiative.  To be honest, I am not sure why there are overlapping initiatives and it would be a real help if someone could let me know!

Anyway see:

https://news.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/2022/04/20/residents-with-a-disability-to-be-supported-into-work/

“Residents with a disability will receive more support to get into work and expand their horizons with a new partnership between the council and national disability employment specialists, Pluss.

People with a learning or physical disability, autism or mental health needs, will receive bespoke support to search for, secure and retain employment.

The assistance ranges from CV creation and work experience to practical help like navigating public transport.”

WISE Ability is Expanding

“WISE Ability Services are currently expanding the BBO UCan Project team in order to support even more people in the Dorset community. We are proud to have so far supported nearly 300 people to into meaningful employment and over 350 people to enter training, education or feel more confident in being able to search and apply for work when the time is right for them.

The BBO UCan Project is for anyone living in Dorset, who is not in paid employment and is aged 18 or over. Download the leaflet below:
