I have been doing their Parkinson’s/Wheelchair dancing sessions (three more if you are interested), keep an eye out for more activities, lots are planned by The Friends of Stour Connect. Watch out for the new leaflet, being designed as I write this.

Lunch Clubs – (copied from their website)

“Many people in Sturminster Newton will fondly remember the Lunch Club run by Albert for many years at Stour Connect, along Bath Road, (DT10 1JF). Friends of Stour Connect are looking to start new Lunch Clubs on a fortnightly basis, and each lunch would be accompanied by an activity – bingo, quizzes, games, etc.

We would really like to gauge the popularity of us putting on such events. We have established that many of our Meals on Wheels customers feel socially isolated and that they would like to attend a lunch club.

Transport has always been an issue for people wishing to attend, and through our partnership working with Nordcat, we are looking at laying on transport to/from Stour Connect.

Of course, as a charity that provides meals across North Dorset we would also like to start/support schemes in Stalbridge, Gillingham/Shaftesbury and areas between. If you are interested in helping or attending, we would love to hear from you.”
