“Last month we launched the Nurturing Nature project with lots of opportunities for free training, online courses, and in-person surveys. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to identify the species around you, or to contribute to the protection of the natural world, then these training courses might be for you.

As we go through the next 12 months there will be lots of opportunities for you to join us in the Chase & Chalke area to help us carry out more survey work. There’s no minimum commitment so please do check out the opportunities and join us when you can.

We’re excited that the Cranborne Chase LiDAR Portal has now launched to our volunteers – a website dedicated to bringing you closer to the archaeology of the Chase & Chalke area, so read on and see how you can get involved.

In March we’ll be bringing you the Chase & Chalke Creative Writing Competition to coincide with World Poetry Day (21st March) with categories for children, young people, and adults (and prizes for each category).

If you have an idea for a community heritage-based project that we can support as part of the Communities Caring for Heritage project the next deadline for applications is 31st March.

You can find out more about all of the free training and volunteering opportunities by registering on the Chase & Chalke Volunteer Hub, and read on to explore what’s coming up.”
