Telemental Health – Call for Evidence

The NIHR Mental Health Policy Research Unit (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/psychiatry/research/mental-health-policy-research-unit) is conducting a review of information on telemental health (telemental health includes any form of spoken or written remote communication – including online, telephone and text-based platforms such as video calls, phone calls, messaging activities) Click here for full details about our review.

“Our review seeks to pull together the evidence base to better understand what types of practices are being used, in what settings. We also want to understand how clinicians, service users and their carers’ experience telemental health.”

What are we reviewing?

This email invites you to submit reports about ALL telemental health practices in statutory primary and secondary mental health care services as well as across community and voluntary sector organisations that deliver and support people with mental health problems.

What types of information are we looking for?

We are looking for reports of any kind (incl evaluations, audits, surveys, stakeholder feedback and testimonies) that present qualitative or quantitative data on service users/family members/carers/staff experiences of telemental health (including clinical or social outcomes for service users) and data on the adoption, reach, acceptability and uptake of telemental health. We are interested in both published and non-published reports that you are happy to have incorporated in a review of the evidence. Please send us any reports that you are aware of on this topic.”
