ELUCIDATE
“This is a call for visual artwork that sheds light on the many issues surrounding ‘mental illness’, ‘madness’ and ‘treatment’. Contributions can reflect on your lived experience or viewpoint of, but not exclusively, the following themes:
The medicalisation of human distress
Non-ordinary experiences labelled as psychosis
A way forward; alternative approaches.
There is no fixed genre and words alongside images is welcome.
Elucidate is run by a person with experience of non-ordinary states, involuntary detention and forced treatment. A small group of others with lived experience are advising in the development and implementation of the project.
