‘COPING STUDY’ INFORMATION

The COPING Study published the following information in its March newsletter.https://bioresource.nihr.ac.uk/news/coping-a-new-study-to-assess-impact-of-covid-19-on-mental-physical-and-neurological-health/

“If you’ve been struggling, you are not alone. Around 50% of participants have reported a worsening of symptoms of depression and anxiety since the beginning of the pandemic. These reports came from over 26,000 participants.”

Reported change in symptoms of anxiety and depression since the pandemic: Depression = 28,381, Anxiety = 26,030

“52% of participants reported a worsening of OCD symptoms since the beginning of the pandemic. This rose to 70% when considering those reporting contamination fear symptoms. Our sample size for participants with OCD exceeded 5,000”
